At Daelmans, we’ve been passionate about Stroopwafels for generations. Ever since Hermanus Daelmans opened his small family bakery in 1904, we’ve stayed true to his motto: “When you enjoy, do it right.” You can taste that dedication to quality in every bite.
What began in a bakery in the south of the Netherlands has grown into a brand enjoyed in over 35 countries around the world. Our iconic combination of a crispy waffle and soft, sweet caramel creates moments of joy loved by everyone.
For more than 120 years, our story has been one of craftsmanship, family and a whole lot of Stroopwafels. And we’re not stopping anytime soon, because it all comes down to that small moment of happiness with the very first bite.

Meet the family
Daelmans is, and always will be, a true family business, and we’re proud of that. What began as Hermanus Daelmans’ small bakery in 1904 grew, through passion and entrepreneurship, into a Stroopwafel brand loved around the world.
Four generations later, cousins Rik and Jeroen Daelmans lead the company. Together with more than 300 colleagues, they share one mission: to make Daelmans Stroopwafels available worldwide for everyone to enjoy.
A Passion for Stroop
Meet Maarten, our master baker who has been at the heart of our Stroopwafels for over 25 years.
As a child, Maarten already knew he wanted to become a baker. What started in a friend’s family bakery grew into a lifelong craft. Since 1999, he has been part of Daelmans, working every day with his team on the perfect wafel dough, cooking the stroop and running the ovens in our bakery in the Netherlands. Maarten’s passion for Stroopwafels is unmistakable.
With soft caramel between two thin wafels, Stroopwafels are simply unmatched. Every day I go to the bakery with joy, the smell feels like home. Seeing people enjoy Stroopwafels is what makes it all worthwhile. That’s probably why you can find us all over the world.
